my marker: Flatline, Qev, 1/8th hoses, vortex mod, nitro tank, RT
friends: Flatline, Low Pressure kit, nitro tank, RT We were out playing this weekend and friend didn't break a single ball in his flatline the whole day(way over 2000 balls). With my setup I'd have a break about 1 out of every 50 shots. Anyone know why? Can it be because his gun is running at lower pressures? My gun was running at 279 fps and his had to be about the same since they were chono'd by techs at the field before we were aloud to play. Edited by ShadowRide - 12 November 2006 at 11:45pm |

When you use a Flatline barrel, you need to be meticulous in its
setup. Ensure that there are no gaps between surfaces: ball
detent area, to adapter, to the barrel. Everything should be
mated tight to enable a smooth transition, and it should be tightened
down well to prevent it from moving. Once that is done, it is
actually damn near impossible for the Flatline to break a ball.
The barrel doesn't actually break balls, almost all break in the breech
area form getting chopped by the front bolt.
And just make sure the gun and cyclone are clean and well oiled and you should be fine. |

My flatline was in all the way and screws were tight. Don't really see how you can't put it in all the way. He was running at 400 psi and my tank regulates at 850 psi.
There was very little paint the cyclone after some breaks..some paint in the breach and a lot of paint in the flatline. Wondering if the qev and the larger hoses have anything to do with this..Maybe too much air and pressure getting to the cyclone? Edited by ShadowRide - 13 November 2006 at 12:31pm |

definitely wasn't shooting no more than 10 bps. I had the palmer qev installed. I bought and installed the clippard one now and it seems I can get a higher rate of fire than before. Tested it in the backyard with the flatline and no breaks after going through full hopper at pretty much full auto with the RT. I think the palmer qev was causing my problems, cause it would skip every now and then, not loading a ball. Thinking maybe there either wasn't enough air getting into the cylcone or too much at times causing the problems I was having. Hopefully the clippard mev solves all this.
