well i just started to paintball, and with christmas coming up, i needed some advice as to what kind of gun/barrel/hopper i should get, or just in gereneral wat upgrades? try to keep the prices under $600 i was thinking spyder MR1 or MR2, but i really like the smart parts ion when i rented, i rented a tippmann A-5 and i didnt really like the feel of it, so dont recomend that, thanks for the advice

Tippmann ion??? Do you mean Smart Parts Ion? If you mean the SP Ion, it is a very good beginner gun which will last you a very long time. A good hopper all around would be the Halo B, but I would look into a draxxus pulse. A good barrel would be a barrel kit. This can cost you at around $100-$200 depending what you want. I love my Evil Pipe kit. If you want an Ion, just search on the nation or on ebay for a nicely upped Ion. The upped Ions will sell a lot cheaper than a new one. |

I'd go with an upgraded Ion. You should be able to find them for pretty cheap and that'll save you money for a good hopper, like a Halo B, and HPA.

Yeah, if you want speedball, I would say get an ion and upgrade it to your liking. If you want a woodsball gun, I would reccomend an sp-8, a sim-4, or a tippmann if you for some reason would change your mind. I have a sim-4 myself and I have had really good luck with it, the only downside is that theres not many upgrades. But you can also use an ion in woodsball too, you just dont get the look of scenario.

upped Ion $200-$250 That doesn't leave you with much to spend on a barrel kit, but if you are desperate, a regular one piece barrel will do fine, like a CP one piece. |

New Smart Parts Epithy (sp) - $399.00
Halo B or Empire - $150.00 Aluminum 3000psi - $49.99 (would recommend a 4500 HPA but will cost more) |

Can I be the first one to recommend NOT getting anything at all? If you are just starting out you need to play for a while with rentals and loaners, and hang out here for a while, to get a sense of what type of equipment there is to be had. There are a zillion different types of guns. Basing you choice solely on the advice of two or three random internet guys may not be the best idea. |
