Didn't we just have a chili thread?
Anyways, I don't really have a "recipe." I think chili is just about putting what you like into the pot. |

My uncle eats chili with his hands. Its the only food he will eat with his hands. Everything else is eaten with a knife and fork. Yes sandwiches with a knife and fork.

As ridiculous as it sounds, yes. The only food he eats with his hands is chili. |

This is my quick-Chili recipe. Yes, it is a modified Alton Brown recipe. You need a pressure cooker.
3 pounds ground beef and turkey. Some sort of combo of the two to equal three pounds. 1 bottle of beer 2 cans of black beans 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt 16oz jar of salsa 1 chopped onion 2 chipotle peppers chopped up 1 tablespoon adobo sauce 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon ground cumin Mix meat in a bowl with the salt. Heat a 6-quart heavy-bottomed pressure cooker over high heat until
hot. Toss in the beef and cook until brown, then move it to a bowl. Once all of the meat is browned, add the beer to the cooker and mix with all the scraped up browned crap from the bottom of the pot. Add the meat
back to the pressure cooker along with the salsa, beans,
chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, onions, tomato paste, chili powder, and ground
cumin and stir to combine. Lock the lid down. Cook till the pressure cooker hisses. Then simmer on low for 20 minutes. Edited by Tae Kwon Do - 18 January 2007 at 12:31pm |
