I think there some kind of a machine that checks it, i never gotten it test to see so i was just wondering.

They use a chronograph at you local field or possibly your pro shop. You fire paintballs over the chronograph and it reads how fast the balls are traveling in feet per second. You should do it as soon as possible to avoid injury.

There is no position of the velocity screw that gives you a specific velocity. The marker must be chronographed. Good used chronos are occasionally available on Ebay...I have bought both a table top style, used at many fields, and a new Radar-X handheld. It gives me peace of mind. It also lets me adjust velocity correctly when testing and getting set up correctly at home. But at least take RoBoCop's advice and have it checked at a field or a paintball pro shop. It is dangerous to play with a marker that may be set at too high a velocity. |
