Ok, now that we've been talking about classic rock songs in the other thread, I've been wanting to download some too.

I heard this song on the radio the other day, I know its older. i can't figure out who does it or the name of the song, since there are not really any lyrics.

The song is all guitar, with just a bass playing in the background, for most of the song, drums come in at the end. The guitarist has one of those voice thingies, looks like a straw that goes on the mic and its used to make the voice sound all electronic and stuff, that he uses to emulate a second guitar. It's also a live song, cause you can hear the audience through the whole thing.
Now when the song was over I couldn't clearly hear the DJ, he said Peter Frampton, but he might have been referring to another song; I had transfered from my car to the parking shuttle by now. I don't think its sounds like Frampton's kind of music.

So with that picture painted, does anyone know the nae of the song or who wrote it? I hear it every once in a while on that station, maybe once a week at the most.

Go to the stations website, because some stations post what songs they played.

It was on at 0330EDT Saturday, while I was on my way to work. Didn't have a place to check it out.

*edit* wow, I just checked it out. The station lists all the songs that its played for the last 5 days. but the song isn't on there, I can see where it should go, I can ever click on the little icons and listen to a sample of the song. I checked the time slot for all 5 days and didn't hear it. Apparently Peter Frampton was the song that came after it, so stop thinking Frampton.

It was WCSX if anyone local to me wants to check it out.

That does sound an awful lot like Peter Frampton's famous "Do You (Feel Like I Do)". It was recorded at a live show, and used the talk box...except this song does have vocals, but the breakdown with the talk box is several minutes long. Dunno if this'll help, sorry.

The only other classic rock song I can think of off the top of my head with the talk box is Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh.

you know what, that was the song.

I wasn't listening to it all the way through. they don't play the full version on the station, just the end part.

Most definitely Frampton. Look at the songs on Frampton Comes Alive, his famous live album, you'll probably find it.

The voice thing he uses is called a Talk Box, here are some famous songs that use it.

GI Joe I'll do that with the world I know by collective soul. It's a major downer song but I love it. And yes I've done the same with november rain, that song is amazing.
