Turn the flow adjuster, on the R/T on the back of the gun outside, in. When using an R/T, you can't put a death grip on the trigger. You have to get a feel for the trigger. Lightly pull on the trigger until the r/t activates. You have to keep that constant pressure so that you can pull the trigger, but the r/t can push the trigger back enough to reset the trigger. Once you get used to it at a lower bps, you can loosen the flow adjuster screw and then you can shoot faster and you will be able to use the r/t non-stop without concentrating.

it works fine on a new tank for a while(just shoot around 200-300 shots thru it and it worked great) but then it becomes useless. are all response triggers like tht? do they have to have a relatively full tank to work?

Full tanks work best with R/Ts. If you want it to work longer, I believe the Super R/T will help with that. The Super R/T has larger hoses that give more air to the r/t letting it work faster and longer.

sean: I was having the same problem, I just recently upgraded to the RT trigger and the first day it work great then once my CO2 got low it would only burst fire every so often. But yes the amount of CO2 does affect the burst fire. I think i may have read somewhere where the Xpansion chamber may help with it but only a little. I have orderd it myself. For what its worth when it comes in I would be glad to let you konw how it works but till then, thats it.
Also, practice will make you better with the burst fire. You may find after playing a while that you dont always need the burst fire single will do. You will just have to master the sweet spot till you get where you fire what you want to fire. |

yeah, i was reading from your rt thread as well. ive been practicing with it for around an hour(while using up all 3 of my tanks in the process :( ) and have definately been able to get a better feeling of the sweetspot. the only annoying thing is that it will do a 10 bps burst, then just a 4 bps burst. its not very consistant...

The "super RT" mod just means that you switch out the RT hose with macroline, sending more air to the RT. Requires different fittings for the larger hose, but not difficult to do. Tremendous upgrade. The easiest thing you can do to tweak the RT is to take out your trigger spring. That will help a little. The best bang for the tweaking buck is the "straw mod". Take a piece of a thin drinking straw, like a juicebox straw or party straw, and place it around the little pin that the sear rests on. This reduces sear travel just a little, and will very noticably improve RT performance. If you are using CO2, part of the problem may also be freeze. Do you notice that your gun gets very cold when you shoot? If so, you might look into an x-chamber/reg/remote or other CO2 assist. Or just switch to nitro. |

so do i take the trigger spring out entirely? i already put a pen spring in there... could you tell me a little more about the straw mod? (pics, visual references ect.) im not sure i know where to put the straw... im gonna buy an expansion chamber pretty soon. i was planning on buying one anyway. as for the nitro, no can do. im 14 and just spen almost all my money on my a5 and a new guitar(saved 2800$ for around 9 months, now down to aroud 200$ haha) so the nitro is definately out of my range (for now) |

I didn't like the straw mod. I discovered some difficulties when using it. It made my gun stop fully recocking sometimes. I took it out and everything was fine again. The trigger doesn't need a spring. The only reason the spring is there is for when the gun is not cocked, the trigger is rest so you can put the safety back on without having to reset the trigger yourself.

That just means that you used a straw that was too thick, like a coffee stirrer or something. Common problem. The party straws that I use are VERY thin. I experimented with different straws, and the thicker ones screwed up the cocking, just like what you describe. |

yea mine would too, then it seemed to freeze up. I was trying to read up on the xpansion chamber to see if anyone had any better performance after upgrading it. My vert adapter should be here in another couple of days. I will let you know how that comes out. You can also read some of the threads on pbreveiw.com. some of them where very useful for me.

"Cheap" tanks usually don't give you many shots before you have to refill. If you were to get a 45/3000 (cheap), you could get about a hopper and a pod and a half maybe.

Tippmann is sending you some tank o-rings? Wow, I'm surprised they just didn't tell you to go to the store and buy a pack because they are cheap.

You might need to tune the r/t. The more you turn the screw, the faster it shoots but the harder it is to maintain the full auto. You need to find a "sweet spot" where you can fire fast but sustain that rate of fire. This takes much tuning and practice. As for the Super R/T. I highly reccomend this. Call Tippmann and tell them that you have a low pressure kit and r/t (even if you don't They make a huge difference. Also, a Capri Sun straw works for the straw mod. |
