    Posted: 07 August 2007 at 12:04am

Yomillio and I have decided to see who can build the better SL by the end of August. When that time comes, we shall let the forum decide the winner! Who knows, maybe we can even compete with Tig's work! :)

My entry.

Day one:

(Sorry for the crappy webcam pic, I don't have access to a good camera right now. I'm sure y'all get the idea though.)

Mods:
- Milled off the sight rail
- Milled off "SL-68 II"
- Cleaned up back of grip
- Rounded the thumb groove for comfort
- Cut off front sight (it sucked anyway. WAY off.)

To come: You'll see! ;)

I have an SL-68 1 I might be willing to really mod since I think it's been repainted and it probably lacks collector value. What are the rules? Am I allowed to strip parts off of my SL-68II that are interchangable and be allowed to swap them back later as I see fit, or must I actually buy the parts? There's not a whole lot I want to do to my SL-68II right now considering it's already been tuned for evil, by evil incarnate. The SL-1 is bone stock.

Sure! I guess we can make this an open competition. Rules? I dunno, make a kick-arse SL-68? One or two, I don't care. Just make sure it's done by the end of August.

Styro: Huh? "*by"?

Im prolly gunna loose 'cause my milling is very light.  I'm not using a dremel because the first time I used one, I burnt it out, and I havent really been too keen on using one since.  Im retaining the sight rail for a red dot, but I'll see what else I can shave down.  I'll have to make it all up in the painting area :P.  Might be time to invest in a lil airbrush kit.

I already have one.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna use it though. Might. We'll see what happens.

Would have done it, but had already milled the groove in the "spine." It just wouldn't look right.

Hate to break it to you Yomillio, but DeTrevni is uber-stomping you as of right now. Kick it into gear, man! haha

As an update, I have it all sanded down and smoothed out. Prime and paint as of the next few days. I've got a few ideas.
