Topic: Question about Ebolted 98...Posted: 30 September 2007 at 1:00am |

Im building an Ebolted 98 with a single way ram...
if i were to use a Virtue Wrath board... could i use the DM laser eyes on it if i cut and separeted the wires to go to two 2pin male connectors instead of the single 3pin connector they come with? because the wrath board doesnt use a 3pin eye connector. if so which eye is the transmitter for the DMs? -to state my reason for using a wrath board... the wrath uses a single way spring returned ram just like the 98 ebolt ram, so the virtue wrath board should work fine... and i am unable to locate a 2way ebolt ram like i wanted |

I'll take my old DM board out and take a look for you today my man. I should have an answer for you by the end of the evening.

Hey, which series of DM are you going to need the info for. My boards are DMLCD (older DM) Or do you need DM4+?

alright, so I've got my DMLCD apart here and am looking at the wiring harness. It appears that the DM series eyes need all three connections to operate properly. The solenoid operates off of a 2 point wiring clip but the eyes are definitely on a larger clip (on mine, it's a 4 point clip with 3 wires) My guess is that the circuit works off of a loop with one of the wires being on, one of the being off, and one being the circuit lead that completes the circuit whether the signal is on or off. I think a good alternative for you to run with eyes would be the eyes from an e-bladed auto-cocker or an older break-beam imp or shocker.

well the Wrath boards use two separate 2 point clips, one for the transmitter and the other for the receiver obviously...
i was wanting to use Dm4/5/C/6/7 eyes because they are wired, not ribboned, and looked like they could be separated from the 3 point clip and be made into two separate 2 points.. Eblade eyes use a single 4 point and are reflective, i dont think that would work too well. im gonna try anyway through trial and error... if it doesnt work, i can always just reconnect/resolder the wires and sell them to someone for cheap and then just go and buy stock wrath eyes (only wanted the virtue DM eyes because they had visible "laser" light .... thanks for the help though. it was much appreciated. |

Well, it shouldn't be an issue since one of the three wires is going to one eye, the other two to another, so long as you make sure to tape up anywhere the insulation between the wires runs thin from separation, it shouldn't be an issue. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
