98 custom valve bolts

Both of the valve bolts went missing for my 98c. Is it unsafe to use? Where is the cheapest place to get replacements?

give tippmann's customer service a call and ask them. I think it's a 1/4-1/8" 10/32 machine screw if you want to try and find a replacement.

It won't be unsafe, but you'll have no end of issues with it as the valve will slide around giving you chrono inconsistencies.

Valve bolts - 10-32 thd, 1/4" length, button head bolt (A bit of an unusual length, McMaster part number 91255A261 for an exact replacement).

As Tallen stated, your gun will work, but not well at all.  When I lost my valve bolts I could get one ok shot, one weak shot and then I would have to pull back the bolt again. 

while cleaning my gun (98C), i noticed that one of the valve bolts is stripped. it'll basically come out next time i run with the gun. did a search and it looks like you can find them at tippmannparts.com for a buck each. hope that helps.

i've read though that if the bolts are stripped then the threads in the valve are stripped as well so i need to replace the valve. in looking for a replacement valve, i guess you can purchase them with or without all the internals. i tried taking apart the valve by taking out the velocity screw and gas line but can't seem to figure out how to take the valve out of the power tube. any suggestions on how to do this or should i just get a new valve with the internals? i've read that taking apart the valve ain't too easy.

or should i just upgrade that stuff? if so, what would you recommend?
