Hey guys,  I used to be on here some years ago,  stopped using my account so now it's inactive I guess.

Anyway,    I've been doing a lot of  barrel customizing lately and I want a little input on stuff like  how much does barrel length matter,  how does the porting affect the shot.  Would slanting the porting at a forwards or backwards angle affect it and how?  Right now I've got a 5 inch barrel that used to be stock tippmann 98,  a 7 inch that used to be stock 98,  and  a 10 inch that used to be a really poorly made Tiller  and all work many many times better than they did originally.   The 5 inch has slightly improved accuracy (don't ask me why)   but drops funny at a distance.   Aside from that  the other two are some of the best I've ever fired.

Also,  if you guys could show me a way to get more barrels to work with,  it would be much appreciated.
Sisters are like slinkys. They're no fun till you watch them fall down the stairs.

Most of what you asked is covered in the "1st marker" sticky in the new players forum.  (Read the "barrel theory" section.)  A search on topics related to this should also turn up additional related posts.

Regarding the directionality of porting:  There are two schools of thought on this subject.  The first is that directionality does make a difference and the end game silenced barrels are based on this theory.  The other is that since sound is omni-directional porting direction would not affect report noise.

I will say the end game barrels seem to work for quieting shots, but I don't think the porting has all that much to do with it.
