I bag groceries and do other various things at a grocery store.
wage: 6.70 but after another couple of weeks I plan to talk to them about becoming a cashier or stocker. pros: Every once in a while people give us tips for pushing there groceries to there car, when emptying the cashier trash I get to keep all the gas coupons I find (you can stack them and get quite a bit off each gallon, and I also get 5 cents off every gallon of gas so you add that to the coupons I can sometimes get like 50 cents off of every gallon of gas. cons: people can be huge jerks, and most don't appreciate what you do for them. |

Same, except I don't want to cashier or stock. At least when I'm bagging I can get away from the smelly people who don't bathe. |

I work for my dad on the farm. $15/hr. but the work varies from highly physical to sitting in a tractor all day. And I also wash dishes at a steakhouse in a neighboring town to help cover gas during the school year.

Job: Customer service manager
Wage: $9ish, plus monthly bonus, and gas money when I convince them. Hours: About 30 a week Pros: Only 3 people above me, my dad and 2 managers who have been there longer, which means I'm over the other 20 employees. Cons: Dealing with idiot customers who think A) They know more then you and B) Think you're too young to be a manager. I had a lady SWEAR that "our store in Arlington" told her something, until I told her my family owned the business and we don't have a store in Arlington. Edited by Linus - 22 July 2008 at 2:40pm |
