Is it legal to modify an actual rifle to a paintball gun? I have an design in mind and I want to know if I can do it. EDIT: I got a new idea, would using a small non-refilable 9 gram CO2 cartrage be wise? Edited by RebelSoldier - 02 August 2008 at 12:42am |

There might be some local laws about things that look like real guns, but thats about all I could think of. So your basically stripping all the real gun parts and modifying it for paintball? As long as you dont go parading around your street with it you should be fine. |

I know a couple of folks that have done MilSim conversions using real AR-15 receivers so I don't see why not.

Here is the problem. The BATFE, no matter what your purpose is, could hit you with a felony charge if the AR15 reciever in question was manufactured after the assault rifle ban. If that lower reciever was made after 1993, you can only put on it civilian upgrades, in other words, no collapsable stock. I know it sounds stupid, but they looked at it as you will put it on an assault rifle. |
