Spore console command?

   I've been playing quite happily with Spore the last couple of weeks, and I must say I really enjoy the game. IT isn't quite what it was billed as IMHO, but it is a bucket of fun.

I was reading on another website that you can cheat by opening the console box and giving yourself more DNA, now I want to play around with some idiotic looking creatures in Spore, so a bundle of free DNA would help stax, but I can't get the console to open up.

It is meant to be Ctrl Shift C but nothing happens. Is there a command line tag I'm meant to insert or something? 

Anyone?

	Check your options to see if you're able to access the console. I know in steam games you have to tick a box that allows you to hit ~ to bring up the dev console, otherwise ~ does nothing.
