Hey guys, me and couple of friends of mine have decided to start playing. I got to buy a marker. I'm wanting to know which one you guys recomend. I don't want nothing real expensive, just wanna have fun. I was looking @ the 98 plat, or the alpha black? Only thing i found is that i get into the sport, i didn't see a whole lot of stuff for the AB such as barrels and stuff. Then i read some of these forums and it seems the AB is just a milsim model of the 98. Is that correct, and what do ya'll recomemend?

Yes the AB is basically a 98 in milsim clothes. If you want milsim go with the AB hands down. If you want an electonic trigger get it pre installed. it will save you the trouble. As far as modifications the 98 mods are all basically compatable with the AB. BArrels and such are the same threading and you can get a cyclone on the AB as well. If you want milsim go AB, if you just want a marker and dont care about looks go 98
Also to make a 98 look like an AB you would end up investing alot more $$ |

frankly i would go with the 98. probably about the same pricing, and if you want later you can upgrade it to look "real". i usually look for a marker that will be reliable (both are) relatively cheap (again, both are) and something that isn't going to be a big hassle to clean, which i think would be the 98 over the alpha black; less places to have to get into and clean.
