i am getting an A-5 with e grip, and i don't want to go through what i had to go through with my 98 with RT, Cyclone feed and expansion chamber. i ended up totally screwing my 98 up trying to increase performance. i am getting an A-5 with e grip, what can i do to reduce chopping? i have heard that c02 can freeze the e grip. so whats the difference between compressed air and traditional c02? what add-ons can i put on my a-5 to increase preformance without messing up my marker too much?

Exactly what did you do to the 98 that "totally screwed it up". Pretty simple markers. Might cost you a whole lot less just to fix the 98.

If you are going the Egrip route with your A-5 and you don't want to turn it into a 'blender', go for TechT's complete Cyclone Feed upgrade kit.  This will allow you to hit higher rates of fire without chopping.  Stay away from the gimicky front bolts.  Tippmann markers work best with stock bolts.  HPA would also be a good upgrade.

i don't want a faster rate of fire. im just looking to not chop balls.

i messed up my marker by not knowing the parts and places well. i guess while putting in the expansion chamber i did something too it . the marker works but barely. with the A-5 i will be sure to know my marker before adding or modding to it.

If you don't want to chop paint, leave the marker stock.  When the A-5 chops paint, it is usually because somebody has modified the marker to fire faster.  If you aren't planning to fire any faster than 13bps, leave the A-5 in stock condition.

One is the stock board that comes with the E-grip and the other is an aftermarket board produced by Advanced Paintball Electronics. They give a full description of the differences between the two boards on their website. Google is your friend.
