98 custom wont shoot above 240?

   So i pull my 98 custom out of retirement. i havent touched it for about 4 years now, i go to the field to play and hook up some HPA to a remote. The gun refuses to shoot above 240. I screwed the screw all the way in, screwed it all the way out so it fell out, and it was still only bouncing between 260 and about 205. **edited**  is going on? it still had a healthy layer of hoppes #9 on thew bolt. the owner of the field said it may be the springs. I do remember waaay back screwing with the sear spring, shortening it a bit. is that really the problem? please help!

	Make sure you arent tightening down the valve on the remote. When turning it on, just screw it in until it airs up and stop. If you crank it all the way down, it dan actually block the valve. If it still is low, try running with tank on and see if it changes. Any other mods to the marker? It could be your main spring has gone bad and the bolt isnt hitting the valve hard enough.

	Additionally, max velocity with a 98 series marker is usually reached when the velocity screw is turned about 4 complete turns out from all the way in. Beyond that velocity can fluctuate excessively or even decrease.
