So, I'm finally making the switch from Spyder to Tippmann, but I've come across a bit of a problem. Which marker should I go with if money isn't really a problem. I should also point out, how it looks (ex: mil-sim) doesn't really matter to me, I just want performance, easy to strip and repair, and reliability. Here's what I was thinking of doing.

New A-5:
I'd add a flatline barrel (unless you can think of a better barrel for distance that isn't to big). An expansion line for comfort, and adding a stock. Yes I realize that this makes it very similar to the A-5 stealth, but i wasn't sure if there was any difference internally (mechanically) from this one and the stealth.

A-5 Stealth:
I'd add a new hopper (the low profile one that comes with the new A-5s would be preferable). The only other add on to this model i was considering was a new trigger, but i wasn't even sure if that was needed or worth it. Once again, I wasn't really sure if there was a difference internally between this stealth model and the new A-5s on the market.

X7 Phenom (Electro):
A new stock would be a must, but I'm not sure if I'd want air going through it or not. Also a new barrel would be required, but i wasn't sure which one to go with. To me the X7 seems (and no offense is meant here what so ever to the fans of this marker) like it is meant to look too pretty if you know what i mean. Yes, its very high tech, some might even say cutting edge, but it seems to be missing some very key components that allow it to be customizable. I couldn't seem to find a flatline barrel for it which was a little disheartening. Now it could very well be that I missed it completely while browsing for parts, or maybe there is a new better barrel that I am ignorant to. Besides the aesthetics part of the X7, what can I do to make this marker even better for speed and accuracy (also is there anyway to add an expansion line?).

When it comes down to it, I want a comfortable marker for speed and accuracy as well as range. I've been shot a million times over by the tippmann A-5s and the new X7s so I know Tippmann can deliver exactly what I want, the question is, in what form?

P.S.-I'm open to other mods, changes, and suggestions, I just want to build a good marker.

New A5 with J&J, lapco, 14" seems to be what is liked amongst the forum.
My A5's have 14" Proto, Smart Parts 14" barrel and the stock with an Apex with adapter.
Apex will be less harsh on your paint than a flat line.
Innocence proves nothing

Agreed use a apex there adjustable and you dont need to buy high grade paint to use them.  X7 and a5 are very much alike its just a matter of your taste.  If you like the realistic look then the x7 is for you. i prefer the a5.  Another thing many fields dont allow burst fire and full auto so it would be pointless to buy a $350+ electric marker and not be able to use the burst and full auto.  But if you go to fields that allow it, then an X7 would be good.  Its up to you. Theres alot of variables when trying to pick one of them.

Its not that i think stuipidity should be punishable by death, i just think we should take the warning labels off of things and let the problem handle itself.

Right, thanks for the advice, I'm looking into the apex2 right now. . .I'm thinking the new A-5 with the e-trigger along with the apex2, expansion line, and of course, adding that stock.
