Hello all, been a long time since I posted, heck it's been a long time since I played. I just wanted everyone to be aware of a new Group I've started for people in the Upstate New York area who are looking for other rec-ballers to play as well as even get a 'party' together to take visits to fields and such (that will be in the future). Please visit: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/upaintball/ If your interested sign up, if not tell a friend and I'll try to get a game going sometime soon (yes even with the snow Thanks guys, see you around... |

I've played in upstate NY before, it's really not that long of a haul from Western MA. I'll keep an eye out for you guys. www.pbmissions.com had a pretty good winter scenario last year. I had my doubts about the Star Wars battle of Hoth scenario, but it worked well. They put on a heck of a good game, and it sounds like they've made the field even better. If you're thinking of doing games in MA, drop me a pm, maybe I could scope out the field and give you a reveiw. |

Thanks for the info, I'll be sure too. It's been rough getting games going while at college, this being my last semester I will finally get some spare time to play. My friends and I only played during high school and one game outside of HS. It will take a month or two to probably just get everyone back in the swing, I figured on starting now just because people are slow and spring is the best time to start up again =) I haven't gotten the chance to play in my backyard but it would make a great 'scenario' type woodsball game, being 1/2 swamp and 1/2 mixed between flat land, trees, and waterways. Make for some play if you ask me, since the mud there in certain spots goes up to your waist... I found that out the hard way. My friend on the other hand, his backyard is wooded with small hills in front and one HUGE shale hill in the back that is scalable with a little wetland and many nooks and cranies. Awesome setup for weekend warrior type stuff and we've got a couple fields around here. Never played at a field but wanted to start. Now I just gotta get all new gear |

Depending on what type of gear you have, you can probably get away without all new stuff. A pro-lite is still competative. I can honestly say I doubt I'll go all the way up there for an outlaw game, but I'm hoping pbmissions will have another winter scenario. I went up with a buddy of mine last Febuary and played with Reb, his bro and a friend of his, we ended up taking MVT. My buddy was supposed to leave for basic training but got busted up in a car accident, so he'll be around for a few more months and he wants to get another scenario game in before he leaves. Playing at an actual field is a big plus, since you have refs, a crono, paint and air. If I'm gonna play outlaw I'd rather stick close to home. If I want a good turnout I could conscript kids from the highschool. Freshman-Sophomore year we could occasionally get 20+ people for outlaw games. |

Thanks I appreciate it... I'm actually thinking about getting a
Prostock cocker just because I've owned a Two spyders, a Piranha and
the m98c before and want a 'step-up'... And something I can toy with to
the extreme.

I tried your link, but it didn't work for me. Other than PBmissions, whose game I loved, I haven't found much in the way of scenario/rec games in the upstate area. I'll probably end up traveling to West Point this year.....went a few years ago and wasnt too thrilled with it, but I want to give it another shot. Worm, I too am keeping an eye on PBmissions for an update. I'll see you tomorrow to sling some paint

if you're looking for games in Upstate, you can try Albany Paintball Emporium. THey recently took over the Splat Factory field in Nassau just west of Albany. They have a game coming up near the end of February and they have an indoor field near Crossgates Mall where they hold an Urban Assault Saturday promotion the first and thrid saturdays of the month.

Just got my e-mail from PBmissions returned. They are NOT having a winter game this year, but are planning on opening sometime in April.

yeah, I e-mailed them myself a while ago, and got the message back. thats too bad, that was a hell of a game. I think I'll try and get to their opening game though, funds permitting. Upstaters can also try out the field that I mentioned in a past thread. Spaaz paintball in Saugerties. Exit 20 off I-87, hook up with rte 32 and get off Old Kings Hwy, make your first right, and look for the sign.
Easy as cake, and its a neat little field. |
