My friend has a 98 custom and when we were playing 2 weekends ago he lost the two valve bolts. He is going to call tippmann but can he play this weekend without them? How can he prevent this from happening again (red loctite?) he is using blue on them

Will it leak? You would be the one to know. How many 98's you got?

If I were you i would take the valve up there and make sure you get the one that fits. Off the top of my head I don't know what thread they are.

4 of my guns work. Everything else has been used as experiments. I sold a lot of parts too so not all of them will work anymore.

The red effect gun has taken a major step back. The frame broke on me again. There are pictures in the marker gallery.

The camo effect has been scrapped. I got angry at the receivers and now they are for sale.

Oh for the love of...

No he cannot play without valve bolts. It will cause all sorts of problems like wild velocity fluctuations and failure to recock.

No, no air will leak because the valve bolt holes dont go into any air passage.

They are 10-32 thread, 1/4" length. Read my replacement parts sticky next time.

THEY HOLD YOUR VALVE IN PLACE!!!! YOU CANNOT PLAY LET ALONE USE YOUR MARKER WITHOUT THEM!!!!

yes they are used to install the cyclone and RT, but they still have a function without those upgrades. if those bolts didn't do something important it wouldn't be in the gun.

To some extent it does. But there is still movement from front to back, which could cause any number of the problems listed above. Sorry for giving you misinformation.

ok i'm the one with the gun mentioned above. red locktite sealed the air line perfectly but now i have other problems. my gun leaks out of the front now. right by the front bolt. i played with it anyways today and sometimes it would stop leaking and other times it would leak a ton. any suggestions. also i went to a hardware store and got some screws and they worked perfectly. thanks Enos :)
