Do you mean to clean it up and give it a shine? If so brasso may work but its like a fingerprint magnet. I used turtlewax on my gun before and it worked pretty good, just be sure to wipe it all off or it turns green and crusts up.

Just don't over do it on the steel wool. You can use sand paper if you prefer, but i find steel wool to be better and easier to use. Just use it lightly to take off scratches and rough parts. Be careful using on the inside of the body; if you take off too much metal the bolt might not seal correctly. If possible use a dremel [with polishing wheel] to polish the internals with 'Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish.' It helps a lot. Here are some sites on polishing internals http://www.model98.net/mod3.html http://www.ottersccustoms.com/polishing.html (The do not sand inside of body warning is more applicable to Spyders because of how they are made, just use common sense.) I agree with everything but one thing. There isn't much of a seal created on the inside of the gun. The rear bolt o-ring seals MOSTLY on the inside of the powertube, and not really on the body of the gun. |
