Ok, if you have a normal plastic hopper, your gun may be able to do 3BPS but you get a better electronic hopper, you can do up to 16, depending on what you get, so see how fast you shootand if you need an expensive one or not.to find out if you need one shoot as fast as you can on a plastic hopper and if you start hearing dryfire, thats becaue it cant keep up you. so its time to upgrade to a E-hopper so you can live up to you full potential. most people if they cant out shoot it, they will still by a cheap one for looks.i have an A-5 so i cant get an E-hopper. but i would pay like 20 dollars if their was a clear A-5 hopper out their...

Cheap hoppers make the paintballs bounce around so they go down easier. Other more expensive ones push the paintballs down and cycle them like the cyclone feed and other features to reach higher BPS.

electronic hoppers either force balls down the feed tube or clear the top of the feed tube when there is a jam.

normal hoppers can make u chop if u shoot too fast. electronic hoppers force the balls into the gun when its censors see that u need it. HALO B hoppers can go 23+ bps while normal hoppers go 5-6 bps TOPS

So you mean that when you first started playing paintball you knew EVERYTHING. I dont think you still know everthing no one does. This forum is made for questions, suggestions and showing off. If some one has a question either answer it or tell him to do a search, dont flame.

They agitate the paintballs in different ways using batteries to allow you to shoot faster without dry firing.

basically everyone else said it but it force-feeds the balls or agitates them so they fall though the tube quicker

they just keep the balls feeding into your gun so it's less likely to chop and can shoot a lot faster than a normal gravity hopper.
