i dont recommend the flatline unless you like dodgeable shots allowing your opponent to step to the side... a nice firepower upgrade is nice... i reccommend the e-grip

^^^ I like your idea make em cry not dance.  I would recomend the e grip.  You might be lacking accuracy but when sprayin a big wall of paint out there who cares? Besides the guy taking it.

280 Fps is still 280 fps shot through a flatline. What dont you get about that? A ball shot from a flatline actually maintains speed better than a ball shot from a normal barrel.

well, your kinda right, it is 280 fps at the barrel, but as you get out to the point where it is outshooting standard barrels, the ball is moving substantially slower.  i have, on many occasions, just side stepped balls from a flatline.  if what you mostly do is provide cover fire for the rest of your team, then the flatline is a good choice, if you prefer getting up into the action, you dont need the extra range, so you should save some money and go with somethin like a bigshot.

Because of the Magnus Effect from the flatline barrel, the ball will decellerate sloer as it travels towards its target- this can, adn has been mathematically proven. It only looks like its moving slowly becuase the lack of arc to the shot makes it look closer than it actually is- but I guarantee that the flatline shoots at exactly the same speed as another marker, and maintains its velocity just as well, if not better.

whoop de friken doo, if i can move to the side and not get shot, then the barrel is probably better used as a hocky stick than a barrel.  a ordinary barrel shoots faster, it has too... the arch in a flatline is putting a unneeded amount of friction on the ball unlike an average straight barrel... i don't need need physics too figure that out...

don't get me wrong, the flatline's range and accuracy are pretty good, but there isn't enough speed behind the ball... or whatever.  you'd do better with a straight barrel and an e-grip to send ropes of paintballs toward ur target.

Because I can.

You're an idiot. Why does the chrony say 280fps then?

A flatline shot does not go any slower. You can set the speed just like any barrel. It's a perception thing. Your brain is used to seeing paint arch a lot more at any given range than a flatline would cause. Thus, when a shot is fired form 100 feet away with no arc on it, your brain is tricked into thinking it's maybe 30 feet away or so, hence the seeming slowness. Having used my flatline to shoot a great number of players, I can tell you that it is no slower than anything else. Trying to say "I don't need physics" is just willfull ignorance. In fact, a flatline shot will be moving slightly FASTER at long range. A normal shot takes longer to reach the target because it must travel the distance of the arc, wheras a flatline goes in a direct line to the target. Thus, the flatline shot is in the air for less time, thus it has had less chance to decellerate- and so is moving faster than a normal shot. Or do you 'not need math' as well?

The Flatline ball is moving at the same speed as a ball from any other barrel.  You may need a little more air to push the ball through the barrel in order to adjust for the extra friction required to provide the backspin.  That is simply done with your velocity screw.

I don't understand how people can think it is coming out slower.  Oh yeah, and try to dodge my 15 bps at increased range like a dodgeball.  Or take 2 seconds and I'll have 30 balls at you.

I just purchased an A5 and I purchased an Egrip seperately so if I didn't like it I could just switch back. The Egrip totally rocks. I have it set on Turbo so I can fire 1 shot at a time if I want to and on the opening break if I pull the trigger faster than 4 shots a second it fires on the pull and release giving me amazing firepower. Its the control (1 shot or rip) that makes me choose an Egrip over an RT. As for the flatline I had one on my 98C and yes it looks cool and shoots far but theres 2 big drawbacks for me. #1 when I shot people way downfield the ball usually bounced. #2 it's such a frickin hassle just to take off your barrel. I bought a Lapco Bigshot as recommended on this website and couldn't have been happier.
