hi, new to this paint balling (but loving it), i have a small question, which is better, the X7 or the BT-4. as i said, i've just started, so i thought i'd buy a marker, (an X7, carr stock, j&j 14" barrel and a response trigger). went out on sat and 2 people had a BT-4 and they said there marker is superior to the X7, is this true? |

I would say that the x7 is better. Although they are pretty much the same. I dont know exactly what his BT 4 had on it, but if you had an x7 with a j&j ceramic barrel and a response trigger you will have a good paintball gun. As for people telling you that their gun is superior thats just people trying to talk smack. For all you know he could have just bought that a few days ago and in his mind it is the best marker in the world. I would say because the x7 comes with a cyclone stock it is better and the fact that you can get the response trigger as well so you dont have to worry about batteries at all. Really I think it is up to personal preference more than anything. What you are looking at buying is a good choice for a pb gun and really thats all that matters. Its not the marker that is as important as the person using it.

Agreed, but the down fall is X7 becomes a gas hog. Using air to power your cyclone feed, response trigger, and power valve is a bit too much for me personally. On the BT4 you can use a rip clip feed (4AA batteries), egrip (1 9volt), or response trigger (air) as well. As Jordan said, it really is personal preference. I would suggest asking about service and warranty.

Actually tests done have shown that the x7 and A5s are not gas hogs. In fact in a field of many markers they come up dead middle or an average for how much air they use. Th cyclone is driven off of air but it is excess air that the marker doesnt use. I say the X7 or even the A5. If you dont care about the milsim look the A5 is basically the same as the X7 but the cyclone is a lil different. As far as internals go though they are extremely similar. honestly i have never used the BT4. It is a sturdy gun but since I have never used it and I havent seen it in use I cannot bash it or support it. Edited by thejudge - 28 October 2008 at 5:30pm |
