Hey guys, I already posted in A5OG, but I figure I could use the input from tippmann community as well. I'm thinking of getting a real AR15 carry handle and sawing off the rear sight of the A5. I would then hopefully be able to attach my ACOG scope on top of it with one of those carry handle rails that go for like 10$. Anyway I was wondering what you guys think would look best.

The carry handle I currently have on it is just a plastic one so I can get a feel of how it looks and the ACOG isn't even attached to the handle, but again is there just to give a feel. Anyway, thanks in advanced for any input!

On the M16A4 variant the ACOG is mounted straight on the rifle. I have seen M4's with both variants, the A1 has the removable carry handle so the ACOG is normally mounted on the receiver, the original M4 does not so the ACOG is mounted on the carry handle.

But it all comes down to personal preference. I prefer it mounted on the receiver but some Marines prefer them mounted on the carry handle. What ever suits you best.

I really like the look of the ACOG so I say you should go with the ACOG by itself becasue IMO it looks stupid on top of the carry handle.

I also think the ACOG scope looks better by itself but if you think its awkard
to use or anything like that then i would put it on the carrying handle.

i would go with the handle + acog because this is paintball here and your mask will make it really hard to use the acog.if u know what i mean

I like the carry handle more because it has a classic look to me. I like the A2, and you're going for the M4. It just seems that the M4 is overdone, everyone has to have it. Weather real gun or paint ball I prefer the A2

Snake, you might get a kick out of this Marine's mounting idea. He's put
his carrying handle on the underside of the front handguard, I presume
for safekeeping.

Not a bad idea!!

Not a bad idea!!

Mack, I have seen that before. The reasoning behind it is that if for some reason the ACOG takes a dump on him, he still has a Iron Sight for quick change out. Also it is nice in some situations to use iron sights as they have better precision accuracy for ranged shots and things of that nature.
