i just got a tippman 98 custom and i was just foolin around shooting some balls, i shot like 4 fast then it was as if i had no co2 on the gun, trigger would do nothing. and i thought it was empty so i started to take it off and it was just like co2 spurting out and the oring on the tank got a little messed up. but when i put it back on it seemed ok? what happened?

how cold was it out? if it was cold enough, your bolt might not have enough pressure to blow back. or maybe your tank was screwed in so that the slightest movment can unscrew or screw it in just enough to push the pin or release it. try putting your tank on, and shoot a few shots. make sure the tank is screwed in as much as possible, and shoot fast see if it does it again.

and also keep some oil on the sear and trigger assembly. with a new gun, the sear spring isnt very stretched, and sometime the bolt cant push it down enough for the trigger to release it. this happens often with the stronger rt spring, but can with a new gun.

^^ Agreed^^   Sometimes they're a little too tight and stiff which causes recock problems until you get a case of paint through them. Keep it oiled up (drop on back bolt o-ring and 3 or 4 drops in asa before you screw the tank in)  If it occurs again you will need to tear it down and take a look around, or have it done for you.  It probably needs to be just broken in and will cure itself.
