All wrong. Ion is a horrible marker. Out of the box you need a $35 feedneck, unless you enjoy taping your hopper to the marker. Next, the stock regulator is shotty and the trigger is sloppy. But for a new player, I doubt they will care or even notice. The barrel is okay, but defiantly not great. The only true statement is that the Ion does outperform any Tippmann, as long as both are stock.

Great Post!

Rebel! Against the "ions are amazing" crowd.

I love my A5 and I know a few people with SP guns that have nothing but problems.  A cocker is a good gun too.  Really it depends on what you are looking for out of it.  Personally I say A5 for my vote even if I did already say it.

Just because the owners are incompetent doesn't mean the marker is worse. Ions do preform better than A-5s, they just need a little bit more maintenance.

who said ion b/c i didnt.  The guy I know owns a shocker and only has problems with it.  No one I personally know has bought an ion yet.  I was just giving my personal preference over an Ion/SP8.  I am just not a SP fan.

My bad, I was guessing inference. Still, the statement stands. "Just because the owners are incompetent doesn't mean the marker is worse. " And Shockers still perform better than A-5s, but still require a little more maintenance.

I'm no fan of SP either. I hate their products (besides the Nerve) and hate their company.

I didnt mean to come across rude.  Sorry bou that.  Didnt really read before I posted.  I will say that they can indeed outperform the A5 as long as the maintenence has been done and they actually are working lol.  I guess reliability is a big part in me buying a gun since I dont have a huge amount of time to tinker with my guns.
