I use Verizon's wireless broadband with great success. Which provider are you using? One thing to check, however, is whether you are connected to some other access form as well. Is your WiFi receiver on, for instance? You should disable WiFi and disconnect any cables before using your wireless card. |

Ok, wait wait...
First, let's not confuse WiFi network access with a true wireless internet connection. Ramb is saying you should turn off any integrated WiFi network adaptor in your laptop regardless of whether you actually have a WiFi source to connect to. The attempted connects from the WiFi may be interfering with your wireless internet. Second, "Rogers Wireless" really doesn't tell us much. Is this a PCMCIA card you plug into your laptop, a satellite dish, or what? Also, have you talked to "Rogers Wireless" about it? |

Just an FYI, "wireless" doesn't help us. There's a huge difference between wireless internet and wireless networking (traditionally called WiFi).
If it's integrated to the laptop, it's most likely WiFi (wireless networking), which means your laptop is actually connecting to a network device in the house that serves the internet connection wirelessly. |

Wireless=Antenna/Dish on your house If that's what you've got, then that's your problem. I used to live in the country, where all you got was dial up or wireless. Wireless sucks, it's not reliable, it may start out that way but in the end you almost always end up with problems, and it's way overpriced. Everything from small changes in the position of the antenna to bad weather knocks it out. If you just have broadband on a wireless network, then it could be a million and one things. Specify, yo. |
