Ok, here we go. I have both the A-5 and 98C and I have upgraded them pretty far all in the name of woodsball. Here's what I've come up with so far. 98C- R/T, Flatline, Pro-team CAR stock, Richochet Ak hopper. A-5 E-grip, Flatline, BT Folding stock. In shooting and comparing both, the 98c flatline has more distance. It may not feed as fast, or dissassemble quite as fast(but almost), but an upgraded 98c is not something to be taken lightly. That being said, I can not only pick my shots with the A-5, but I can sling paint with the best of them without worrying about misfeeds from the stock cyclone. Now I'm not discounting the R/T, in fact some on this very forum have tuned it higher than any E-grip, though to keep up with that rate of fire you'll need to spend upwards of $100 on a nice E-hopper. Also the folding stock transforms the A-5 from battle rifle to CQB MP-5 lookalike. When all is said and done, the 98c has the range and enough upgradeability to delight woodsballers old and new. The A-5 has a wide variety of upgrades available, and third party companies delight in delivering new and seemingly impossible not to have accessories. Either way, you'll be getting a quality gun that has the ability to grow with your experience. Hope I helped out with your and anybody else's decison. Thanks,
Sgt. CJ

I'd go with a custom pro or an a-5. It all boils down to preference. Shoot them both or any marker before you decide to get it. I have a 98c and it has never let me down.

NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.
