howdy i just started playing paintball about a couple of months ago and love it. i have a 98 custom that i like alot. there is a used x-7 at paintball shop that is 150 with response trigger on it. is that a good deal and would it be better than 98. my friend is goin to buy my 98 130 bucks so i wouldn't be out that much money. i really don't have alot of money so i wouldn't be able to change anything on 98 or x-7 for a while so would the x-7 peform better for right now??? thanks

Welcome to the forum.

If you can upgrade from the 98 to the X-7 RT for only $20, that is an excellent deal, assuming your 98 is not very upgraded.

In terms of performance, the 98 and the X-7 are basically the same gun inside, and they will shoot about the same.  The RT will drastically increase your rate of fire, however, and the X-7 also comes with the Cyclone feeder to keep up with the higher ROF.

The X-7 is also easier to strip and clean, and is very customizable in terms of cosmetics.

no my 98 is not upgraded at all. so it is easy to strip/clean does that mean if there is something wrong with it since it is used it would be easy to fix. all i read that tippmanns are very reliable so hopefully it wont be bad.

Tippmanns are reliable, but any time you are buying a used gun you should shoot before buying, if at all possible.

With paint.  Shooting without paint is helpful, but you never know for sure until you send some balls through it.
