What ever happened to that comic strip enos wrote (a LOOOONG time ago) after his plastic power tube broke? Where the A5 power tube went to heaven and sat there talking to the procarbin and 98c power tubes, only to find out they both were run over by tanks, and the A5 tube was cracked in half with a screwdriver....

Actually my A5 was 77. I was kinda hoping for it, but ah well.

I still have that comic somewhere, maybe Ill dig it up later.

Dag. Got to test out the X7 today. Inspected the cyclone, those paddles aren't quite what I was expecting. Still pretty much a hard plastic, just now a different color. I was hoping for them to be made out of the material that the 2nd Generation ratchet was made out of. Sort of squishy, yet firm enough to still feed without trouble.

Oh well. Still like the hopper top. Low profile.

I'm not a big Spec-Ops fan; mainly because of the noobs who run around justifying their bloated sense of self-worth/skill because they read something on the Spec-Ops websight once and kind of used it in a game in their backyard against their 5 year old little brother: ("OMG I'm da 1337 uber-snyper!") But, I must give them credit for bringing a lot of new people into the woodsball side of the sport and helping keep paintball's roots alive.

Edited Note: It is probably unfair of me to blame Spec-ops for this; it is more likely just the result of the interaction between their Delta-Force marketing hype and the agg-speedball mentality. What the heck, I'm going to blame them anyway.

I have to say, I absolutely hate the hopper.

the lower profile calls for it to be elongated. Any downward angle shooting causes rounds to stack up in front of the hopper. Rapid fire at even the remotest depressed angle led me to have numerous misfires.

the A5 Hopper did that too, but not nearly as bad, as there wasn't as much space ahead of the cyclone feeder housing.

serial number 320.  WHen i took it to the corn maze to do some hunting of others, I had a real major problem with paintb breakage. Myabe it was just the cold or something, but my first 5 rounds were shotgunned out the barrel, and this was premium paint! Had better luck with generec Wally World paint.

Is the X-7 low-profile hopper compatible with the A-5 Cyclone?  Sorry for the double-post.  Groggy and mind-clouded form lack of slepe.

Stormy I would say it should since they are the same cyclones. I thought they didn't change anything to the cyclones from A5-X7

I haven't tried the X7 hopper on the A5, but vice versa it worked alright, so logic would state that it should work out fine.

They are interchangeable. (Played with them at the local shop.) Do not like the low profile X-7 hopper, but the R5 looks real sharp on it. Also, the front angle of the R5 should prevent some of the feed problems mentioned above.

I may have to look into the R5, the stock X7 hopper doesn't impress me at all.

Downside is the lower ammo capacity of the R5. Proving yet again that I have no life, I counted how many paintballs the lined "sniper" version will hold and came up with an average of 171 after five loadings. (And the rubber lining only makes it slightly more quiet than my stock hopper with my homemade neoprene "bikini" cover.)

I never realized the F/A hopper was interchangable with the others-good stuff to know for future projects.
