Glad your son likes the sport. Keep on him to get better and better. Hopefully he will turn pro some day like he wants to.

But he is apparently taking steps that could negate those actions. Plus, some of his comments lead me to think he might actually be a cop which means he has access to real guns as well. (Further Darwin Award potential.) As a side note, this link is to a related article on another forum. Everyone who plays this game should read this at least once as a reminder of the potential danger inherent to this sport. Edited by Mack - 14 November 2006 at 6:03pm |

alright, you guys are just being ignorant.
the rule about only wearing APPROVED eye protection is a GOOD RULE. (did anyone see that youtube where a kid got shot in the face while wearing ski goggles and the ball went through?) but that doesn't excuse your personal attacks on someone's parenting when you don't know what you are talking about. that helmet will stop a damn beanbag round. it will stop a 450 fps hot paintball at point blank range. it is freaking safe as hell. if weight and cost were not issues vforce would use the visor material of a motorcycle helmet. people enjoy posting like they know what they are talking about. don't forget though... the rule about only wearing APPROVED eye protection is a GOOD RULE. |

Agreed. Though proper safety equipment should be used while paintballing, this guy and and son are in there back yard just shooting at each other. Nothing dangerous about that. |

Thx to all that have posted an opinion. I'm going to do a little experiment, I'm going to take that same helmet, and point blank shoot the visor. I will also boost the FPS to about 380 (thats just before the ball burst in my barrel). After the visor holds up to that!!!! I will take a 10 FROZEN PAINTBALL, and complete the same test. Mabey that will calm the alarmmist. Probably not, but I wanted to prove my point, and the guys that think I'm a noob and shouldnt reproduce, wont have a leg to stand on.

Well check it out when you get home, Interesting, but kinda scary. I'm not sure what the guns FPS was set up at, but dang, has to be well over 350 FPS.

well yeah of course you were right just compare the thickness of the lens' alone, motorcycle lenses can't be removed right? this would most likely make them stronger. motorcycle ones are made of better material (still plastic though right?) |

LOL, well tell that to Mack and Justice, LOL, when I made the video, it came out great, the visor stayed together, but when I took it apart last time to clean it, I forgot to tighten the freaking screws to the helmet, so it vibrated off when I was taping, but the visor had no cracks or breaks. The video prooved my point, that my son's head was in no way in danger. That's what I was going for, "Visor with stay together". Soooooo Mack and Justice, nice try, WHO'S YOUR DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, Mack and Justice where in a way Right, only that you should wear all the necessary equipment when playing paintball. I wanted to make sure my son's throat was protected when we where making the first video, so I put a motorcycle helmet on him which covered his entire head and neck. So congratulations to Mack and Justice for reading the owners manual on safety, and leave the protection of children to the parents that have them.

The fact that your experiment worked doesn't make it the way things should be done or demonstrated. It also doesn't make you any less unsafe or or any more deserving of reproductive capabilities or offspring. You have to be lucky/right every time you choose to flaunt common sense and established saftey procedures (in anything) in order to avoid injury, you only have to be wrong once for bad things to happen. Hopefully, when your luck runs out there will be no innocent bystanders within collateral damage range. Oh, good thing it wasn't on your son's head when the visor vibrated off during taping or, conversely, good thing the screws were tight when it was on your son's head. I think you just made my point with your statements there sonny so my work here is done. Edited by Mack - 18 November 2006 at 4:28pm |
