ok so im trying to unscrew a cocking rod off my friends outkast but the rod just wont budge the little nut thing will unscrew but the rod stays in there. any ideas. he hasnt messed with it so i dont know

Check for small setscrews. There are usually a couple locking the adjustment points. If you are still having a problem take it to a shop. You will have to get it retimed anyway.

i have tightend the poop out of the back one which is messing with the timeing i know but i know how to time a cocker decently. ill try it at again

crank down the set screw in the back of the nut and use a wrench to
remove the rod. If that doesn't work, get ready to buy a new rod,
because you'll have to take the vicegrips to it.

well is used a a table vise with a cloth. worked quite well got it out and timed it to my bbest of ability and going to give it back on wednesday, jeez i cant spell thank for the help guys.

Just for future info, the easiest way to do this is screw on 2 or 3
10-32 nuts, tighten them together as tight as you can, and use a wrench
on the closest nut to the body, so when it tries to unscrew off the
rod, it jams and will unscrew the rod from the hammer.
