I just played halo 2 for a good 3-4 hours, i would've payed longer, but the kid who bought it has class in 4 hours. my first impression is that the game is awesome. first we played multiplayer. The double needlers and energy sword are sick. The maps are very nice as well. As for co-op we finished 3 levels. I firmly believe the game is better than the first. There is a nice suprise for the 4th level that i think everyone would enjoy.

I just did the same thing, seeing how I have no work today. I'm used to getting up at five, so this is a bit of a system shock for me.
Anyway, the game is very well put together, with a more cinematic feel to it. They put the in between level loading into the background, such as during cinematics, and the game flows very nicely. The outdoor scenes are very well done, but the indoor settings are much the same as the first, very similar and repetitive. Sometimes you have to go and trace your trail of bodies so you know which way to go. One of the most subtle points in the game that I realized much later is that during the opening when MC is getting prepped and they ask you to look around at the lights on a grid, the game then sets the axis to be inverted or not. At least I think it does. I noticed that a multiplayer profile I made did not have the axis inverted, which is the default, but the character I went through some of the campaign with did, because I naturally choose that. Small, but a nice touch to get the game moving quickly. The controls are intuitive if you've played the first game, even the dual wielding. The multiplayer levels, which I haven't gotten to really use yet, look really interesting. There are two multiplayer levels from the first game that I spent some time getting reaquainted with. All in all, very nice game. Edit: I will say this though, the menus, especially when setting up a multiplayer game, can get tedius. They're standard menu format, a column of selections you can make on the left and their current setting on the right, but you can't just press to the left or right to change it. You have to select it, which takes you to a sub menu where you can select from a list of values for the setting, then go back to the main list. A small thing, but somewhat annoying and counterintuitive for me. Edited by reifidom |

I dont think menus can ever really be called "intuitive" on any console game. The input capability just isnt there. I like the idea of loading in cinematics, why hasnt someone else done that before.. |

The cinematic loading idea is cool. I'm looking forward to playing it, but again, I think it is just a solid game. It doesn't pwn every other game out there, nor does it suck a big one... #2 should be cool.

So it's been out for around 14:30 and already 4,000 bought it in my town alone. 4,000 and there's only like 60,000 people total. Thats a crazy amount of people.
