1) I have been on this forum since 2000-2001-ish since I first got my tippmann 98 (powerpack), years ago under another name (something w/ 666 in it...maybe paintball player666 or something?), regardless I never was very active in the forum and forgot my name and password....so then several years later i decided to post on something...forgot my name...and made a new 1 (this 1). So in essence I have more then 82 posts, and regardless that does not negate or lessen the truth in my comments.

2) True it is a "Which gun is best" section of the forum, but perhaps it would be better to actually discuss the pros and cons of guns and how they compare, instead of posting 80 stupid polls..."which is the best gun EVER? A) Tippmann 98 w/ a crappy sear trigger or b) my friends Brass Eagle Stingray"... which then becomes a waste of time and space, when a discussion on the 2 guns would be more fruitful and informative to other individuals.

Clarification:

a) I didn't attack (nor intend to) the question asked in the poll...besides saying i think using polls is not the best way by which to deduce, which gun is actually best or the benefits of a specific marker.

b) I understand not everyone can afford tournament grade markers. I suggested the 98 since I feel it is the best value. I then commented on people who say he should get the 98 (or the A5), because of the upgrades he can put into it, upon which time they list upgrades that cost a significant chunk of change when all of them are done.

The point being it is dumb to buy a gun so you can upgrade it excessively. I feel it makes more sense to buy a gun you need. If he the tippmann is fine for what he is doing now, great. If he decides down the road he wants to add things piece meal, thats a good idea.

However buying a low end marker for the expressed purpose of adding significant capital into the marker seems wasteful and unnecassary in my opinion.

Simply put if the choices are all he needs, his personal preference, or all he can affords they are both good choices, but buying a low end gun on the basis of all the upgrades you can then in a relatively short time put into it is stupid. It makes more sense to save money of a short period of time and then buying a better marker.

Out of my 2 posts the one you actually quoted was in response to tecumsah, who basically said that:

a) i only have 82 posts (that negates the impacts of my statements?)

b) i should accept polls as they are in the which gun is best section.

I countered (I will admit, unnecassarily harshly, and not that clearly), that while polls are useful when used for a purpose. A simple discussion which then can be looked at, and have a clear discussion on the pros and cons of a set of equipment. A poll can not give reasons why a particular marker is better, discussion can.

I was talking about after getting a Tipmmann Powerpack, making an account on this forum...the account name on the forum had 666 in it, it has nothing to do with the power pack.
