Gentlemen...

I need help...

I need to take a Ford F-150 (not an SVT / Lightning) and I want it to run down Mustangs, Corvettes, etc. Pretty much the crappy sportz carz.

I'm already thinking super-charger, exhaust, and headers...

What else?

Super charger will be enough. That's assuming you have the 5.4L(331) or a 5.8L (351)

Maybe...but I'd be looking at around 100-125 HP increase...and a lot of cars are much, much lighter.

Supercharger, fuel injectors, heads. intake, stroker kit, cam. You would have one nasty truck.

Er...

Any forseeable problems lower? I had a friend that built a Charger to 850 HP and when they took it to the track, they hit the gas, the thing jumped on the rear tires and ripped apart the axles or something...

A F-150 should have a 8.8" rear end. You'll be fine. If you're worried find an old Ford 9" they will handle anything. Since the truck will be a V8 from the start you will be fine. The major components will be somewhat beefy from the get go.

Cool...

Thanks for the advice...few more months...well, acutally a lot more because it'll be after my second deployment (figure around a $30k project)

Edit - I figure if I get the parts and have someone put them in, it'll save me money because they can just put things because getting to the heads and cams will be a pain...

Er

I've never seen you be so wrong about so many things in one post. It's staggering.

I will never get a small vehicle...it has to be a truck or an SUV

I will never get anything other than a Ford...

I hate Mustangs, the one car from ford I despise.

The F-150 will let me haul a crapload of stuff...trucks are just awesome.

Anyways...this all changes when I get married and need a Honda Civic, but until then...skrew it

For $30K I would buy a GT Mustang used for around $20K, and spend the other $10K in parts.

The project won't be cheap if you really want to kill some quick cars. Supercharged is one option. But twin turbo is also great.
