What is it with all these fast food attacks?

Bad parenting.

Included in that list are not being allowed to smack children when they misbehave.

I blame the fact that we're overrun with uncivilized, over-entitled idiots.

Has to do with getting free food.  Ever play GTA?  Works every time.

Combination of a more aggressive youth culture, particularly in poor areas, and the fact that everyone with a cellphone has a video camera and it inevitably gets recorded.

I blame rap music.  Seriously.  It gives people delusions of grandeur.  Then, instead of letting something go like a normal person would, they think they have to protect their grandiose self-image through physical contest, often in the form of slapping and chair throwing.

Agreed. This is observed in many things, even last years earthquakes. There was no more frequency than normal, but people thought the world was ending because there were more images from more locations than ever before.
