The judges are biased anyway. Hamm is cool. Screw Korea.

It's his medal.  He should do what he wants with it.  The judges were stupid.  It's not his fault they screwed the chinese guy.

he didnt give it up, thats the point.  the judges screwed up and gave hamm the gold instead of it to yanng.  hamm should have given it too yanng, but he kept it.

The judges **edited**ed up real bad. The judges should have given the medal to korea, but didn't. So its Hamm's medal and he should keep it.

He was awarded the medal. He keeps the medal.

If they want to award another medal to the Korean gymnast, that's their business. But they can't officially award a medal and take it back based on their error.

They actually did that quite often. Atleast once in these Olympics, I forgot the details but someone did have to give up a Gold Medal, pretty sure someone messed up on the staff.

Everyone makes mistakes, if he didn't win it, he shouldn't have it.

But he did win... The moment they declared him the winner.

They can't take a Superbowl victory back because of a bad call in the 4th quarter because it's over when it's over. Their only option is to correct their own mistake without penalizing the person they gave the medal to.

He didn't cheat. From his perspective, the medal is his fair and square.

He based his routine to beat a score that was previously given to him. That score was changed after when the judges realized their mistake. I've heard talk about them giving 2 gold medals for that event.

SandMan: I believe the pole is leaning more towards what should he have done morally, not what legal action should be taken.

All legal matters aside, I think he is a selfless bastard for not giving it to the Chineese guy. Even having worked that hard, I would have given it up in a heartbeat. Just the thought of even having an opportunity to do something like that is mind blowing. Imagine the honor in that. I guess you would only really feel that way if you were personally on the recieving end of something like that though.....

That whole thing is messed up. The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) looked at a video review to determine his starting value should have been 10.0, instead three judges gave him a start value of 9.9. FIG is not suppose to use video review and if they do they should review his whole routine and they would find an error the judges missed that would deduct two tenths of point so he would be worse off.

I think Hamm should keep his medal and Korean keep his because he doesn't deserve the gold.
I didn't do it, honestly.

Yeah.  If you were in his shoes, you would have probably done the same thing.  I know I would have.  I mean, winning an Olympic Gold Medal for the best all around gymnast isn't a small thing...

He shouldnt give up the medal they did underscore him but they went back to watch it and found out the the korea guy was suppose to be docked in certian areas that he wasnt, and you dont hear anyone complaining about that so hamm should just keep the medal
