Well Ive been working out latly and mostly doing aerobics type
stuff(this being many reps and light weight) to burn some fat. I do
bench, 2 types of curles, and 2 or 3 tricep thingies. Right now I
work out every other night but I was wondering if it would be alright
to work out every single day doing the same exersizes.

Doing the same thing every day isn't good, its not bad, but its not as good as mixing it up.

In order to "get buff" I lift 3 times a week, run 5 miles 3 days a week, and do sprints and
plyometrics 1-2 times a week. Sustains/builds muscle mass and strength and
keeps the fat off.

If your just starting doing the same thing every day is perfectly ok. If you were into heavy lifting or serious training, then I would say focus on different body area on different days of the week.
Since you are doing the same workout every day, just rotate the exercises. You will be fine. |

Exactly, that is how you build muscle. They get bigger because you are creating tiny tears in the muscle, which heal themselves, making themselves bigger. If you do the same muscle constantly, it doesn't give it time to grow. |

I work out at Tae Kwon Do. Either doing the normal class, or other ways before/after class. I have routines I do on the punching bags and wavemasters, and I do strength toneing with Power-Bands (these thick 3 foot bands of rubber elastic) doing things like wrapping them around my ankles and doing kicks, or holding one end in each hand and wrapping it around my back and doing pushups. I really dont lift weights, I do endurance/arobic stuff. Ok onto your advice. Get a punching bag or a Wavemaster (big punching bag on a stick) and work on it for about 15 min without stopping. Also, buy some of thoes ankle/wrist weight strap-on deals and put them on and start a jog/run. It wears you out and really does wonders on your physical endurance...... |

Instead of doing curls with your palms facing your chest, hold the bar so they your knuckles are facing away from you. That will correctly work your "tricepts".

for triceps do skull crunches...lay on your back with a curling bar strait out with your arms extended...then slowly bring the bar down to your forehead and lift it back up. do 3 sets of 10 to start with. dont put too much weight on it or you will hurt your head. You can hold your hands either way on the bar but i prefer hands on top of the bar (when you come down your hands should be closest to your head)

Triceps can be done by taking a weight, and holding it behind your head, and lifting it straight up and down. remember, speed is key, go slow. You build resistance that way too. Sorry I cant describe the workout very well, just go to a local gym and ask for some tips. |
