Well I sold my old Impy and now Im looking into getting a new gun. I have it limited down to these two guns the LCD Trix and the Alias Timmy. I was looking at spending less then 1,000 but the Alias is a pretty nice gun. I guess here are the questions that I have and the answers to these questions might be the deciding factor on which gun I get. 1) What how is reliability on both 2) Which has a better eye system 3) Lastly is the Alias REALLY worth over 1,000. Is it SOO much better then the 03 Matrix that I should go out and buy one right away or are they just about equal and spend the less money on the Trix? 03 Matrix
Alias Timmy EDIT- Please don't reccomend any type of cocker, I owned one and HATED it. Also no ICD's or SP guns either Edited by ScarFace22 |

Ok you can have the light weight timmy or the ok weight trix. They both have excellent eyes..so dont worry about that. (i think theres a ramping chip made for the lcd trix, correct me if i`m wrong) ok matrix is closed bolt and has less parts compared to a timmy in my opinion. And most timmies are open bolt and have a derlin bolt so well it`ll swell in the rain.. (i saw a guy at my field with his timmy, it had SOOOO many parts) ok if you play back i recommend gettin a trix if you play back and a timmy if you play front...its all down to the weight...IMO |

Both are OPEN bolt markers. Timmys do not have more parts, how do you figure. The old skoo trix bolts have around 16 orings on the bolt.. and the bolt is 8 pieces. Who plays in the rain.. if you have a good quality bolt in the timmy it wont swell. Non of mine have ever swelled. The alias is better all around then the old skoo trix IMO. Faster then sin, and very air efficient. Rather light as well. And there are ramping chips made for both.. you can get any electro a ramp chip or a board. |

Thats the other thing I forgot to ask too. 1) Which is more gas effiecient 2) Which is lighter 3) Which easier maintence I am a front player but thier are a few things that are turning me against the Alias Timmy #1 The biggest reason is the price. $1,300 is a real lot of money #2 Timmys don't always seem to be very reliable. At the local proshop and field there always seems to be someone with a Timmy waiting to be fixed I don't know if I want to put out 1,000 on a paintball gun, especially one that might break down alot. |

I like the Matrix but there are some things that I don't like about the Trix. Yes I would be willing to spend 1,300 on a Timmy but I don't want to spend 1,500 on a DM4. The Alias Timmy is already a stretch and I don't know how I'm going to afford it I defintily can't afford a DM4. Also Im not crazy over Dm4's I like the Alias more. |

Why? The Dm4 is better than the old school trix. IMO. They choice should be DM4 or alias I'd take the dm4.

Just curious, why wouldnt you get a DM4, but you would an old school trix? The DM4 is better on close to all ways, and has a better resale value. I say alias timmy, BTW. |

I don't..for real I can't give a definant answer to that question. Theres just something about the DM4 I don't like and I don't like that it doesn't have an LCD screen. While its not that important and its not the end of the world Im just six of the whole dip switch LED light thing. It was a pain in the butt with my WAS board. Im not saying its too hard but its just annoying. Also I don't like the look of the DM4 either. It looks like a melted blob of aluminum. EDIT: What kind of lube do you use for the hammer and poppet? Also, does anyone know if the trigger of the Alias is adjustable? Edited by ScarFace22 |

Yea thats what Im really leaning towards right now. Like I told you on aim for an extra $100 im getting alot more with the Alias then the DM4. With the Alias Im getting a gun thats lighter, more gas efficient, just as fast, comes with a delrin bolt, comes with a great board and LCD. |
