If you are honestly part of the Straight Edge movement please answer the following questions it would help me out greatly.  Please help me out here.  This is for a class and my teacher made these questions up.

How do you dress?
What music do you listen to?
What food do you eat?
Slang terms?
Are there any Initiation ceremonies?
Lifestyle (how do you spend the day)?
Are there any symbols?
Role of women/men?
Rituals/traditions
What is the Moral Code?
Who is the enemy?

for those of you who dont know strait edge is a life style with no drugs not even cafine or medicines.

From what I understand of thier beliefs and practices, it would be easier to just convert to the Mormon faith.

I'm not straight edge. But I do listen to bands who are. Straight edge was a movement started in the late 80s and early 90s. The man who started it was Ian Mckaye. He was in the band fugazi, and the frontman of Minor threat and The rites of spring. Being straight edge is a way of life. It means that you do not endulge in any drinking, smoking, or drug use. If you are straight edge, you would sign your name like this (my name is kyle bobinski) kXb. The X stands for straight edge. but i am not straight edge. The only straight edge punk band around now that i know of is AFI. This is only for straight edge punks. Do not sign your name like i showed because unless you are straight edge. Thats what i know about the movement. It was started to start a smarter genre of punk.

. yeah, it does sound like that doesn't it. I just had to mention that cause the straight edge community gets really pissed if you sign your name like that. it's really against all their beleifs if you do.
