Looking for Accurate Barrel

I am new to paintball and so far I had my 98 Custom for a week now and I
love it. I just don't like the barrel since it has no accuracy what so ever.
I'm thinking of getting a rifled barrel from either Empire, Pathogen, or
Armson. I'm would like to use a 13" or 16" Armson since it seems better
but I would like another opinion. Are their any cons to the ones listed and
are their any better ones under $75 in terms of accuracy? I will probably
play mostly in my backyard which is a forest/swamp.

Using anything larger than a 14 inch barrel is not recommended, as they do not improve accuracy. My 14 inch Lapco Bigshot is very nice. Many players use them. A variety of paint will work in them, as the barrel is a medium bore size, but I find that Marbalizers work the best. Search other topics regarding barrels and you will keep hearing the Lapco Bigshot come up. For around $50 to $60 bucks it's a sweet deal.

The J&J is amazing it is really quiet and is pretty accurate and it is cheaper than most other barrels too.

As far as the threads, is that because there are two types for the 98
Custom? I was reading their site and according to them, serial numbers
under 400,000 something have different threads in which they make a
barrel for those threads only. Also, anyone know anything about the
Pathogen and Empire Twister?

lapco bigshot is better than the j&j, but is like 10 or 20 $ more expencive... if you want accuracy, get one of them, or a kit (kits are $$$ tho) if you wnat distance, well, youre forced to get the flatline

I have dye boomstick and i love it. But, my brother has a lapco bigshot and it is just as good. except i payed 100 for my barrel and he payed 50 for his. So i would highly recoment the bigshot.

Go with the j&j but if you really want something thats accurate i suggest the dye boomstick, only problem is it costs 110 dollars....mayb not worth the money if your not playing often.

I got the tippmann 14in sniper barrel. I paied 50 for it and i paied 110 for my dye boomb stick and its sad to say the the shorter barrel is just as accurate as the 18in boomb stick.

The Ultralight really is light, and a really good barrel. With marbs I can hit people at flatline ranges (of course, using advanced lobbing skills) and still get breaks (also not from barrel) because its got a really good (small) spread with marbs. Plus, it balances weight off the front of my gun's setup, and I don't even feel the recoil anymore.

Not any more, Pro-team bought Armson and is makeing threads for the 98 custon and more.
