After the Sox vs Yankees game last night (good job sox!!!) the Boston police shot "less leathal" roit control weapons at the roiting crowd. The "less leathal" weapons they were using were paintball guns shooting paintballs filled with peper spray powder. The powder is suppost to get into the respatory system and make the target fall to the ground coughing. A stray ball hit a young collage woman, who was not participating in the riot, in the eye. She died later that night.

The news has refered to the "less leathal" weapon as a paintball gun many times. First the SupperBowl and now the WorldSeries....

Shadowminion, we don't see eye to eye every often and this is one of those cases. I agree that what the police did was terrible but they did not mean to. They are going to live with that for the rest of their lives. "Nuff said"

yeah i heard about that last night, i was in Boston but not   where there was tons of Police, thats a shame, hopefully something will be done to stop this from happening again...GO SOX

Didn't anyone think of using grenades filled with pepper spray powder?  Seems like they would be just as effective in a crowd and no one would be getting shot in the eyes....

And anyways, I think the people rioting were more stupid than the cops....if they didn't get so mad over a baseball game, then there would be no need for the cops to shoot anything.

I don't think it's a good sign when a form of entertainment begins to cause so much violence

All that needs to be said here is wear your masks. The cops shouldn't be blamed, they were doing what they were supposed to be doing. I believe a real issue is the press refering to the pepper ball guns as paintball markers. They are similar but have very diferent purposes. This is the kind of bad press we don't need.

I'm going with stupid cops here. They really should reconsider using a paintball gun as riot control due to the damage it can do to ones eye. Also couldnt they fire them at peope at say stomach level, that way people don't get peged in the eye. Thats just my opinon.

I rather have the cops use a paintball gun when using pepper balls during a riot and has anysone seen the police use the non lethal round from a shotgun, it shoots a orange bean bag that can knock a person down off their feet....Ive seen it used a few times....its not a pretty sight.
