You know what I was thinking about? If a foreign power were to invade the U.S. there would be no chance of succeding unless they nuked us. I mean, just think, those crazy suckers would land in their parachutes and stuff like something out of the movie Red Dawn and then all the people from places like Texas and Alabama and places like that would be like, "What the hell??!!!" Then they would get their guns and would go crazy!!! The invading force would be fighting not only the thousands in the military, but also the millons of civilians that we have. I know this is a pretty useless topic but I just figured I would state my mind. It would be pretty crazy if it happened!! |

Yeah it is kind of useless
 . But your right, they'd have a tough time. Don't forget: just like the problem pretty much every country that invaded Russia had; the land area is too great, supply lines stretched, manpower too dispersed.

The US has something like 3 or 4 million males capablie of combat, China has something like 2 or 3 hundred million.
However I do not know how technologically advanced they are so we might beat them there. |

Darur: From what I understand, the Chinese' military technology is more advanced than many nations (not the US!), however they lack it in great quantity. Consider the Korean War. A US Marine Division held off a 3 Chinese Armies (which = a lot of divisions), while they retreated from the Chosin Reservoir. They survived with not very high casualties because of artillery and air superiority, something any nation won't have in the US because they're so far from any of their bases.

that would be the shortest invasion in history
Chinese soldiers wouldnt have a home to go home to. They would have a pile of melted glass where china once was. that and they would have to take a portion of mexico or canada to successfully attack us with any real man power. |

Nice one Seb...lol....Anyway, China may have a 50 million man army but
they have no way of ever getting it here. I agree, that the only way
anyone could ever invade would be to nuke the general population or
maybe bio/chem weapons but even if they did there would be absolutely
no way they would ever maintain any sort of power here. Americans don't
like to be told what to do.

well, it would just give us a reason to take out the commies...but whatever. I highly doubt the chinese have any brains they should attack us right as we're in preperation to invade the next arab country that didnt do anything(Iran). We'd be totally defensless to like, almost everything...but then again...its hard not to see over a million boats with chinese people with guns on it... |
