I've had the chance to handle one of them.  The internals are very similar to a 98 or A5 so they should be durable.  A lot of thought went into the M16 kit.  When you screw the barrel on (which seems to have model 98 threads) the front sight lines up perfectly from the factory.  This is impressive b/c the aftermarket kits I've seen always require adjustment.  The only mil-sim markers I've seen that looks better are the Arikon series.  I'm not counting the AT series markers because I'd rather have 200 rounds in a hopper than 25-85 in a magizine/foregrip.  My one gripe with it (and the reason I won't get one) is that it is vertical feed.  What good is a mil-sim M16 peep sight system when the feed neck sits right in the middle of it?  Also the carrying handle does not have the rail mounting hole that allows the installation of other sights on top of it.

BT does have outstanding customer service.  I know someone who broke their front handle and it was replaced free of charge with a better one.

Edited Note:  I forgot to mention above; I've seen all three versions, but only messed around with the M16 style one.  One other thing I didn't like was the trigger.  It wasn't as crisp as the 98 or A5; it reminded me of the trigger on the Bruiser SOB I used to have.

actuly...i just now noticed something about it...its nothing more then a a-5 without a cyclone feed and a modified body to make it look like a m-16...look really close at it and the a-5.

thats the striped down version.

theres the a-5

notice the handle style(the pins)...where the air source goes in, the barrel placement...the top cocking is on the same level as the side fron cocking as the a-5.

so wouldnt it be justified to say that it would be just as good as a-5 for people who dont like the whole mp-5 look and prefer to have the m-16 look?

edit: you beat me to it >.<   lol...well i gave pictures for people to see

Oustanding Customer Service my rear end!!!....I sent them several emails (last year when it first came out) concerning its performance and what upgrades can be applied to the BT-16, till this day I still havent recieved a response to my questions.

No you cant. Its a cross between a 98 and an A-5.

There are some huge differences between the BT and the A-5.

Duh, or else they couldnt sell it. lol.

I've handled one at a local shop.  It looks like a very nice marker... a blend of a 98c and an A5...  It has 98c barrel threads, so there are lots of good barrel upgrades for it.  I really like the rear cocking lever on the one I handled.  I believe it field strips like an A5.  It is a little lighter than an A5 I think, but not as light as a 98c.  I don't agree with what people are saying about the plastic parts and poor quality... it seems like a very good quality product.  The hopper receiver is the clamping type... I don't love the vert. center feed...

I've heard Ben Tippmann is being sued by the Tippmann Co.  I'd be a little wary of buying this product and not having good support after the suit is over.

why?...dude...i think if i was dennis...i would step in and say something to the people who own tippmann now...because comon, its his son...dont you think that gives him a little bit of a right to make some cool styles of tippmanns markers? i think it does...who else agrees with me?

Ben Tippmann is not the son of Dennis Tippmann Sr., Dennis Tippmann son's name is Dennis Tippmann Jr., Ben Tippmann is related to the Tippmann Family but, the company is not affiliated wit Tippmann Pneumatics....got the info directly from Tippmann Pnuematics.

I'm trying to be open-minded, but what does it have over a M98C? Vert feed?

And people have the nerve to say the A5's overpriced.

it has a better look then a 98 custom for one...and fits the whole m-16 look better...

and whats the coment about the prices mean?...the full setup of the bt-16 is $300...thats not over priced...thats about the same as putting the same kit on a 98 custom...

If you really want an M16 milsim get the 98c, installing M4/M16 parts to an 98c is alot easier to mod and creates less clutter and I would rather turn the A5 into any of the HK models....so, show me a real M4/M16 with a grip and rear sight like that seen on a A5 and compare that to the 98c.

well you will really have a hard time making a gun look exactly like the real thing unless you alter the preformance...the bt-16, in my best guess, was made with a-5 internals but 98c barrel thred and a 98c rear...and yes...it does have a better m-16 milsim look then the milsim setups on the a-5 of a 98c...and im gona turn a a-5 into someting almost like whats on my sig...but a difrent stock and barrel...and not camo...

edit: rum is bad for you...it makes you make lots of typos...

I wouldnt say its going to be hard to make it look like the real deal (there are those who are able to make one to look like the real deal, for instance www.Rap4.com ), we're only discussing the cosmetics of the gun and as for the BT-16 having the same internals as the A5...I dont think so and if it is so, then Tippmann Pnuematics has the basis of a law suit against Ben Tippmann for copying a patent.
