I am planning on getting a new gun and I've narrowed it down to either the 98 Sniper Package or the 98 Survival Package. Which one would you recommend on getting? Also, is there anything that you would recommend getting with either one of those guns? (Like scopes, chambers, etc...)

I saw the 98 survival on a website (www.800paintball.com) I think it's the same as the Pro RT. It comes with a Drop Foward, RT, an Expansion chamber and a 14" barrel.

But I am one of those players who likes the long distance, sniper tactics. That's why I am thinking about the Flatline.

the flatlines great! i personally dont like the looks of the 98c flatline so because of that reason i'd say get the survival package with the drop and such...but if ur more of a sniper then get the one that suits ur needs best good luck! |

im not overly familar with the sniper package other than it has a flatline and a stock right? if thats all it has then i'd suggest an expansion chamber if ur plan' on using c02 and if ur a true sniper prolly want to get a remote coil

The package comes with a Custom 98, Flatline Barrel, Remote Line and a stock. Should I look into getting a sight or dot scope or would it just get in the way? |

i think sites give u too much tunnel vision leaving u open to being flanked so i guess if it comes with all that then id suggest an expansion chamber still and then the rest of the upgrades r up to u on how u want ur gun to look/ feel sort of thing. for ex. maybe dye stickie 03's or a double trigger for more comfortable shooting

What is a good expansion chamber? Does it have to be made by Tippmann?

Don't get an x-chamber. If you're serious enough about woodsball to get
a good setup like the 98 w/ flatline and car stock, drop the extra cash
to buy a Palmer's Satilizer regulator. Your CO2 will be MUCH more
consistent, and your marker consequently more accurate.

I know the expansion chamber allows the Co2 liquid to turn into gas, but how does it help? And I have know clue what the regulator is suppost to do....... So what do u recommend?

OK A regulator regulates the pressure that goes into the marker, typically CO2 is about 800-850 psi a regulator keeps the pressure at a consistent pressure, CO tends to change its pressure with the temp. it could go higher or lower. an x-chamber gives liquid CO a chance to turn into a gas which in return gives you a more consistent pressure it also help to keep from freezing up your gun. when liquid CO gets in your gun it does bad things to the o-rings. I personally would purchase a high pressure comp air bottle and be done with all the problems of CO. I believe this is the right explanation. |
