Someone told me this:

E-bolt: 13 bps
E-grip: 15bps

WTF is this true? If so, why would anyone buy an e-bolt?
And what is your opinion? should my friend get that new custom pro that comes with an e-grip, and then swap out the e-grip for the e-bolt, or should he get the custom pro and just keep it as is? Thanks.

Because the E-Bolt is for the 98C and makes your gun electro-pneumatic.

The E-Grip is for the A-5 and is just a sear tripper.

People buy e-bolts because they have 98c's and e-grips only work for the A-5. If you get a Custom Pro just leave it how it is.

I dont know where you got this. E-Bolts (for 98 only) are capped at 15bps which is means it meets tournament limits.

The E-Grip (A-5 only, Custom Pro has one that wont fit a 98 or A-5) is capped at 15bps and has the exact same functions. The E-Bolt is an electro-pneumatic firing system, and an E-Grip is a cheap sear tripper.

Ok well if they shoot the same speed, why should someone pay so much more for an e-bolt?

They dont make an E-Grip for the 98 Custom, its only made for the A-5. Theres a huge differance between the E-Bolt and E-Grip.

The E-Bolt is a whole new electro-pneumatic firing system which is more complicated and better which is why its more. While the E-Grip is just a cheap sear tripping kit.

"...is more complicated and better"

It, based on what ive read on this forum, shoots the same or around the same speed as the e-grip. And its tons more money. Someone actually tell me why its Better.

well when i emailed tippmann they told me that they were going to make the Pro e's egrip be able to go into the regular 98c and that it should come out in about 1 to 2 months ...I copyed this right from the email they sent me...

WE ARE WORKING ON AN UPGRADE KIT FOR CUSTOM OWNERS THAT WILL ALLOW THEM TO USE THE PRO-E'S ELECTRONIC TRIGGER. IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN A MONTH OR TWO
Thank You

I did in my post. The E-Bolt makes your gun fully electro pneumatic.

ooookay,

egrip= sear tripper. sear trippers just move the sear, generally found in e spyders

ebolt= ram. yeah. A FIGGEN RAM! air goes through it which moves the ram which hits the valve which shoots the ball which lands a splat on my oppenent's google

its just better quality.

The Ebolt has the following modes:
Response: fires on the pull and the release of the trigger
Full Auto: 4 to 13 shots per second
Turbo: Semi Auto, goes to response mode if trigger speed is more than 5 times per sec.
Burst Mode 1: 3 shot bursts.
Burst Mode 2: 6 shot bursts.

Hehe, my Virtue DM5 has uncapped full auto, I can set it from anywhere from 10.5 bps up to max hopper speed.

But like someone pointed out, the E-Bolt is capped at 13. The E-Bolt is awesome because it totally changes how the gun feels and shoots, whereas the E-Grip is still just a blow-back sear tripper.

25 balls on semi is still dangerous. 25 bps is 25bps no matter what setting its on.
