I made a bolt that puts a back spin on paintballs, it fits in a A5 and 98 customs. It saves you 100 bucks

Hey Monk, I found the perfect picture for your sig! Sorry I didn't mean to Hijack this thread or post somthing really off topic (even though I just did). It's just that I saw this picture and thought of your avatar. It's a little bit big though, you'd have to resize it if you did use it. |

Ok, you know how the ball gets a backspin right, well i took the stock bolt out and drilled 4 hole on the bottom half of were it hits the paintballs. So in turn more air is pushed out those holes/grooves I drilled. Now the more air is pushed out the mor backspin it has. The Proto type I made has one hole to far to the right so all the balls shoot a little right( I should have taken my time) If ya still can understand let me know

I call shens. Your idea doesn't work when you apply Newtonian physics. That, and having seen it tried before, by people with far more mechanical and intellectual skill than you, and it not working then, I doubt it works now.

Its a really old idea. Tried by many people like Pariel said. If it did work, companies would have done it a long time ago.

Nice attempt. In thought it sounds good, but I dont think it would do well in performence.

i don't know, it sounds good, but backspin has to come from the ball
actuall spinning off something, air cannot just to it because once the
bolt moves forward, releasing the air to the bottom of the ball, thats
all it gets. it needs to be turning the ball all the way down the
barrel and out of it. just the initial blast i don't think is enough.
with the flatline, it takes the whole barrel moving the pb down and up the curved part to get the backspin. same with when a golfer hit a ball and puts backspin on it. the backspin comes from the contact with the club. it needs the contact with a real, hard surface to produce backspin. |

ya i made a barrel that generates the paintballs, so you need no loader, or paint!.......
considering you can't spell flat right, I doubt you could have made that |

Actually air can do it alone, have you ever heard of a Hop-up barrel? It accomplishes the same effect a flatline has, only a hop-up barrel does it with air pressure. It has three grooves at the top of the barrel so that when you fire there is less pressure upon the top of the ball than there is on the bottom, thus creating backspin. |

I wonder If I made an adjustable barrel for woods that could put a certain spin on a ball to make it curve around bunkers would people buy it? Millslane I have put backspin on a golf ball once in my life any other time it goes about ten-twenty feet and slices so sharp I think it's comin back to me... Edited by Sentinelz |

What if Someone took a junk barrel, and using a dremel or something
like that, roughed up the top most part of the inside of the barrel.
The top would then create more friction on the paintball, allowing
backspin to occur. As long as the barrel wasn't roughed up enough to
rip open the paintball, it seems like it has a chance of working.
Would it lose all lateral accuracy though? |

Well, there is really no way a roughed up barrel could be accurate. Besides, friction is only bad for paintballs. |

Flatline can already do that. As for the roughing of the top of the barrel, some people tried it. It didnt work to well. |

Yeah but it would be cheaper than flatline and it won't have backspin in turn...
