So
Darur (yes, another thread where Darur reffers to himself in the third
person) has realized that he has several old PCs worth of parts laying
around his house and hes in a tinkering mood right now.
Basically I am wondering where I can find a motherboard that can run several proccessors for one PC. I have a Pentium 3, a decent but somewhat old AMD (forgot the specs) and a processor from another PC that will hopefully come soon. I know the brands are all different but is there anyway I can hook all these up and make a new, ok PC? I tried a few sites but I cant find anything. Any ideas? |

Ebay is your friend.
You could build a PC for random tasks easy enough probly. I wish i had the parts laying around to put together a machine just for CNC. |

I've been trying Ebay but not getting a lot of success. I'm a bit of a newb on computer termonalogy so I cant tell if any motherboard will support more then one proccessor, or with this sort of project am I looking for two motherboards to hook together somehow? |

Need a dual processor motherboard, but you know that already...just
look for dual processor. not sure about the different brands, pretty
sure if its an intel board it'll need intel chips and the same for an
amd board

Yeah, I'm startign to get results now, was looking in the wrong places. Is there any sort of adapter for processors, or is it possible to set up the two PCs and motherboards and hook them up so they work as one? |

I think the idea is that he has a bunch of random computer stuff that he wants to play with, not that he wants a superior computing platform that he has to spend money on. |
