Have you tried lowering your velocity?  Or maybe it's bad paint.

^^You guys give up WAYYY to easily. First, you going to want to make sure you velocity isn't to high. It should be at like 265 or so. Then you're going to want to make sure you're using good paint. Small bore works best in the Flatline. And also make sure it is installed correctly.

Your bore size is probably too big or your velocity is too high.

There's your problem. Next time use paintballs instead of bullets.

Seriously though, use high-quality paint, you're going to have to spend some money. Chronograph your gun to make sure you're not over about 280 fps. Re-install the Flatline carefully to make sure it is installed correctly. Try again.

the one possible flaw of the flatline is the fact that is picky with paint although zap and powerball go through fine and they are cheapish.

Is the barrel seated fully to the bottom of the adapter? Next, change paint. I am not saying get high grade expensive paint. I am saying that the paint you are using may be overly fragile for your set up. Some of the most expensive paint actually breaks too easily for Tippmanns. Then check the forward bolt...check the "O" ring and the leading edge for damage or burrs. Replace either/both if they are suspicious.

My flatline started breaking paint. New bolt solved the problem...though I could see little wrong with the bolt that was already in the marker.

We picked up some Diablo Heat recently that is way too fragile. We have been using Heat for 8-9 months and never had this problem. This latest batch breaks three out of five balls when dropped from 5 feet onto an concret floor. The previous batch broke 2 out of 10 when dropped from the same height. Sometimes it's just the batch lot of paint. Paint is the easiest place to start. Pick a small diameter paint...not an expensive paint.

DON'T GET THE FLATLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get another after market barrel like the All American, Freak, Stiffi, or Sceptor Barrel. The flatline is slow and not as accurate as it says.

hey one of my friends had a problem with his it was to smooth (yes on the flatline its a problem.) the balls would jump up and hit the top of the barrel, and break. the flatlines needs to be a little rough to give the balls back spin.

EDIT- well actually i just gave you the problem (possibly) and not a remedy call tippmann and tell them you are having problems with your flatline they will probably take a look at it.

I was facing a flatline and it didnt prove itself what so ever!!! I have also used one and my freak with all american front would rock that thing. It works well maybe if your all about playing undetected but that is still very hard to do.

Are you sure these are barrel breaks?  Do you have this problem when playing with a straight barrel?

What kind of hopper do you have?

A-5,

Your experience seems odd. Certainly there is little likelihood that one could remain undeteced with a Flatline since it is one of the loudest barrels out there. With proper installation and care to use the correct size paint, along with imediately cleaning of any broken paint, a Flatline is the best long range barrel out there. (until the Apex came along).

Still, what did you mean when you said, in the previous post, that the Flatline is slow?
