if they do come out with a semi auto one , it wont be for a while i think.  They still have to figure out how to keep the temperature down when useing propane.  I am sure they will figure it out , just sit tight.

They eventually will come out with a way to keep it cool. If they do, it will be the marker of choice for rentals everywhere.

I doubt it'll happen. The ywould have to have a way for the bolt to be reset using "blowback" propane, and its hard to do that when you basically light the propane on fire to shoot the ball.

It wouldn't be safe in semi-auto, or else tippmann would've made it semi in the beginning.

No,  it'll be safe for some genious to make it semi-auto,  they just put out the pump firsy because it's a marketing gimmick.
They want to sell all their pumps and then put out the semis and then everyone's gonna want the semi.

Therefore they make twice the money

They don't need to use blowback to reset anything.  The bolt could easily be reset with small battery-driven servos.  Other guns already do this.

The larger question is the priming mechanism - the pump action on the C3 does more than just move the bolt.  But the pump action is not heavy, just long - I'm thinking this could also be done electrically.  I could be wrong, but I don't think that's the problem.

We'll see...

They did it to get their concept on the market as soon as possible. To beat any others and have it available right away. And remember, most technology happens in baby steps. Just remember the airplane.

I'm not sure how successful they're going to be in getting a propane marker that will empty the chamber of exhaust, recharge with gas, ignite the gas in there to propel the shot, then empty the exhaust again all within the space of the few nanoseconds that it takes to pull a trigger.

Im sure it CAN be done, I'm just dumbfounded as to HOW. Unless theres some kind of dual chamber system, but that would just make the thing HUGE.

They have been working on it before the C3.

It should be ready ready around Sept-Nov 2006

Sounds like they need a 4-stroke.

Otto cycle - Intake, compression, combustion, exhaust.

Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

Baby steps with an Airplane???  If my memory serves me right the first people that tried to fly had to jump off a cliff ....  I'd call that "thinning the herd" than "baby steps" ....

There isn't any way of telling yet. It all depends on the type of work that goes into creating it. If its a very simple mechanism, which I doubt it CAN be, it shouldnt run more than 300 bucks. Given the prospective complexity of a semi-auto that runs off a flammable gas though, I'd say that you're looking at a significantly higher price.

Hell theres semi-auto gas powered nail guns. But they work much differantly, and with a "solenoid-like action."

Some replica reenactment machine guns use propane to create a very loud, bright flash, continuous full auto... dont know how they work though.

Theyll find a way just give it time.
